    What a find! You really need to look past the location because this was one of the best meals we have had! The staff was outstanding. Dan did a fantastic job, and had great recommendations. The calamari strips were absolutely perfectly cooked, tender and delicious, the fried artichoke hearts were a treat!!I had the Castroville chicken and it was delicious! Hubby had filet and son had surf and turf and all were excellent. Also the bartender was on point, one of the best Black Russians I've ever had. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

    Have been here a couple of times and the food has been good and reasonably priced. It's by the beach so you can sit outside and enjoy the view while you eat. I love the Buddha bowls! They have ample selection of choices to accompany food allergies, vegan and vegetarian diets and of course regular meat dishes. It's definitely a crowd pleaser. It gets busy so plan ahead. The service has been good and the staff very nice.

    I'm sure everyone will mention this but WOW, we were told that the exterior is like a dentist office--it is true. Until the moment you step into the restaurant, it feels like someone might pull a molar! But then the restaurant inside is perfectly homey. The bar, spacious and clean and with nice big windows. Great service and the buffalo Chicken salad I had was delightful and spicy!

    It's been a while since I've been here. I was avoiding it due some low par service issues in the past. But I gotta tell ya the service is great now and the food was delicious. I'm glad I gave it a second chance. California Bar and Grill in Watsonville is a hidden gem tucked away in an unlikely setting--a medical building--yet it delivers a dining experience that stands out in the area. In a town where Mexican cuisine dominates, this establishment offers a refreshing change. The menu is a delightful surprise, featuring a variety of California-inspired dishes ranging from burgers, grilled meats, sandwiches to salads and seafood options. Being mostly vegan, I appreciated the vegan and vegetarian menu choices. The salads are great! A lot of the produce comes from the owner's organic farm.
